STRATFORD — Schools Superintendent Janet Robinson asked the Board of Education for a budget increase of $4.3 million for the 2019-2020 school year during a meeting of the board Monday. The budget request totals $116,188,511, an increase of about 3.85 percent over its current budget, $111,878,512. Board members didn’t ask many questions of the superintendent after she gave a presentation outlining her proposal. The board’s finance committee will hold several workshops to go over the details, scheduled for Jan. 31, Feb. 4, and Feb. 19, with a special meeting scheduled Feb. 21. This story will be updated.
