Study: median home price drops in southern Fairfield County

The price of the median home sold in southern Fairfield County was down 1.4 percent from a year earlier, according to a new study, even as neighboring areas like New York City and New Haven registered gains. Attom Data Solutions reported the price of the median home sold in the Bridgeport-Stamford corridor at $404,000, with the drop coming on the heels of a 2.4 percent gain in the first quarter. Markets gained steam elsewhere in the Northeast, including in the greater New York City region where the price of the median home sold was up 7.4 percent from the second quarter of 2017, with the Boston area up 8.2 percent and the New Haven-Milford corridor seeing the median price increase 4.9 percent.
