BETHEL — Town police hope the public can help identify a woman accused of stealing a donation box filled with cash earlier this month. Bethel police said the donation box was stolen around 10:45 p.m. on July 11. The woman pulled into the parking lot of the Wheels gas station and convenience store on Stony Hill Road and parked in a dark section of the lot. Then she went into the store and was caught on surveillance footage taking the donation box, police said. It was unknown how much money was in the box at the time of the theft. Once the woman allegedly took the box from the counter, she left the store and drove away in a tan or gold sedan, police said.
