STAMFORD — Two of three Democratic candidates for attorney general said they had reservations about legalizing recreational marijuana while the third was a strong supporter of the move. The policy views and ideas for action were among the highlights of the first official debate of the trio as they met Thursday evening less than three weeks before the primary. The two state lawmakers running for attorney general, party endorsed candidate William Tong and challenger Paul Doyle, expressed reservations about legalizing recreational marijuana. Rival Chris Mattei, a former federal prosecutor who has never held elected office, strongly espoused legalizing the drug.
