WESTPORT — The Westport Fire Department helped rescue a driver trapped in his car after a crash early Sunday morning. Two cars crashed sometime around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on I-95 Southbound between exits 18 and 17, according to a release from the fire department. Both cars were significantly damaged. The department’s Rescue 3 pulled the trapped driver from his car within 15 minutes, while Engine 5 treated the driver in the other car. Westport Emergency Medical Services also treated both drivers. State police controlled traffic and investigated the crash. The incident was cleared before 4:30 a.m.
