Town of Westport launches new committee

WESTPORT — The town’s first selectman recently announced the establishment of a new committee — the Real Property Committee. Members of the committee, residents Helen Garten, Marty Fox and Iain Bruce, will act as Marpe’s advisors about purchases, leases and other acquisitions or dispositions of real property for recreational uses, open space, municipal facilities, public rights of way, investment and conservation. “The Real Property Committee members will review and keep abreast of the current real estate market, as well as investigate opportunities and options that may be presented to boards and commissions for possible action,” Marpe said in a prepared statement. Marpe also announced some other recent appointments.
