A Pennsylvania man sued Shelton-based Discount Power on claims the company repeatedly called his telephone in violation of Do Not Call registration rules. Discount Power provides electricity billing services in Connecticut and five other states, offering $100 in monthly dining and shopping rewards for customers. Stewart Abramson is seeking class-action status for his lawsuit filed in Connecticut federal court, claiming Discount Power “spoofed” numbers to trick caller ID systems to appear as though the calls were generated from a local exchange. Abramson is seeking $1,500 for each unsolicited call in violation of Do Not Call rules.
