BRIDGEPORT — In an attempt to deter possible retaliation at a homicide victim’s funeral earlier this month, unmarked Bridgeport police cruisers patrolled the area of the funeral home during services. The funeral was for Eric “Fetti” Heard, 19. Heard was shot in the head on Jan. 30 in the 20 block of Price Street. He was initially on life support at a local hospital. He died on Jan. 31. Police said, in an incident report, that Heard was a “known group/gang member.” “Members of the Gang Task Force have received information that tensions are high between rival groups/gangs within the city of Bridgeport due to the murder of Heard,” said the incident report, obtained Monday through a Freedom of Information Act request.
