A nor’easter is expected to develop Thursday, bringing rain, gusty winds and very little snow. Rain is expected after 5 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service says. Precipitation will continue through Friday night with a chance of rain turning into a period of snow. At this point, the NWS says only a half-inch of snow is likely. There is also the potential for coastal flooding along the Long Island Sound shoreline. “ A slight chance of rain is forecast tonight for most places and mainly dry conditions are expected into early Thursday,” the NWS says in its forecast discussion. “The winds eventually become easterly Thursday and increase in strength during the day when stronger low pressure approaches from the south and west.
