WESTBROOK — Fire crews were called from around New Haven County to help battle a fire that destroyed a Westbrook home Friday night, according to local fire officials. The Westbrook Fire Department was dispatched to a home blaze at 242 Toby Hill Road around 4:55 p.m., after an eyewitness phoned in a tip. Fire officials said that there was one man at the home when the fire began. The man made it out of the blaze unharmed, officials said. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Due to the advanced nature of the fire, Westbrook Fire Chief Mike Jenkins said that no firefighters actually entered the home, according to NBC Connecticut report.
