It may not look like it but early morning commutes on Saturday could prove to be sneakily icy, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. The NWS issued a special weather advisory to warn residents of potentially icy conditions in the early hours of Saturday morning. “Light onshore flow and temperatures below freezing will produce patchy black ice early this morning,” wrote the NWS. The patchy black ice conditions are expected to strike along across coastal Connecticut and Long Island, affecting southern Fairfield, New Haven, New London and Middlesex counties. The NWS is warning people driving Saturday morning to proceed with extra caution while traveling.
