Proposed compromise on anthem After another football-full weekend, beginning week 12 of the NFL, the question about standing or kneeling for our national anthem is still debated and politicized. I personally could never kneel during its playing, but I do understand the rights of those who do. However, on balance I cannot understand nor sympathize with those who stand for the flags who fought against the principles, interests and freedoms of the United States. I think therefore that an agreement could be reached, for all pro and amateur sports from football to NASCAR, NBA and golf whereby everyone should always but always stand for the Star Spangled Banner.
