Chronic homelessness has dropped 62 percent over the last three years, according to a new study by the Hartford-based non-profit Partnership for Communities. The report credits the General Assembly and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy with “remarkable progress” creating 10,000 units of affordable housing since the governor took office in 2011, along with 3,300 more units under development. Those experiencing temporary homelessness - as opposed to chronic, longterm homelessness - fell 8 percent since 2015.
