WASHINGTON — Connecticut’s Democratic senators are helping to man the barricades against the GOP tax bill, which moved to the Senate floor on Tuesday and could get a vote this week depending on whether Republicans can count the 50 votes needed for passage. But neither Sens. Richard Blumenthal nor Chris Murphy are sure their side can block approval, which would move it closer to President Trump’s desk since the House approved its version two weeks ago. “It’s a bait and switch bill,” said Blumenthal. “But I think (Republican Senate leaders) will leave no horse-trading and deal-making undone to achieve this bill because it’s the only accomplishment they will have for the entire year.
