MILFORD — City cops charged a Bridgeport man — who police say was a convicted felon illegally in possession of a handgun — with several motor vehicle violations. Dupree Smalls, 29, of Capital Avenue in Bridgeport, was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, violation of a protective order, failure to insure a private motor vehicle, illegally operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to display plates. On Nov. 26, Milford police stopped a vehicle on Interstate 95 at the exit 34 entrance ramp. Police said the motor vehicle stop was for an equipment violation.
