BRIDGEPORT — Local cops will partner up with children from at-risk neighborhoods for an evening of shopping next week. In partnership with the REACH Foundation, Bridgeport police officers will give underprivileged children the opportunity to shop for the holiday with law enforcement officials with a “Shop with a Cop” evening. The purpose of the event on Dec. 5 is to strength the relationship between children in the at-risk neighborhoods and the officers that patrol those communities, according to Chief Armando Perez. The REACH Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 to help children in need — physically, financially and socially.
