There are a number of accidents caused - in part - by slippery road conditions. The State Department of Transportation is reporting that Interstate 91 northbound is closed between Exits 28 and 29 in Hartford due to a multi-vehicle crash that occurred around 4 a.m. The roadway is expected to reopen within two hours. Traffic is getting congesting in the area, officials said. While major state roads have been treated, there remain slick spots especially on exit/ramps and bridges. While much of the state received little snow overnight, the rain that fell has frozen because of a drop in temperatures. Local roads also remain slick.
