The statewide severe cold weather protocol will be activated for Connecticut from Wednesday to Sunday as bitter cold temperatures are expected to move into the area. Gov. Ned Lamont announced Tuesday he would activate the protocol starting at noon Wednesday and lasting through noon Sunday. The protocol directs staff from state agencies to coordinate with 211 and Connecticut’s network of shelters to ensure that those who need shelter during the frigid temperatures are able to find it. Available shelters across the state can be found by calling 211 or visiting www.211ct.org.
