CT communities prepare for extreme cold

With extremely cold temperatures in the forecast, communites making plans to make sure residents are prepared and safe during the bitter weather. An arctic front will cross the area Wednesday afternoon, bringing with it gusty winds and a chance of snow showers. As the arctic air mass settles over the region, temperatures will fall into the single digits to around zero by early Thursday morning. There will be a more than 20-degree temperature drop between noon Wednesday and 5 a.m Thursday. Wind chill values early Thursday morning will range from 10 to 20 degrees below zero and will only rise to around zero during the day on Thursday as temperatures remain in the teens.
