Bridgeport Rescue Mission prepared for cold weather

BRIDGEPORT — As temperatures dip into the single digits and wind chill values have it feeling like it’s below zero, the Bridgeport Rescue Mission is ready to provide shelter and food for any members of the homeless population seeking refuge from the arctic weather. “Conditions are too danger to sleep outside; blankets and warm clothing are simply not enough to survive,” said Executive Director Terry Wilcox. “We’re making room for as many extra folks as possible to keep them safe and warm.” Wilcox said when temperatures get that low, the center always opens its doors to those in need.
