A pedestrian was struck and killed on I-95 in East Haven late Tuesday night. The accident, reported around 10:45 p.m., happened between Exits 51 and 48. A crash investigation closed the southbound lanes for about five hours. The name of the victim and details of the crash have not yet been released. WTNH reports that at least one East Haven police cruisers were struck by a tractor-trailer truck on Frontage Road about an hour after the crash. East Haven police were assisting state police directing traffic off the highway. No East Haven officers were injured, the station reported.
