Former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Bob Skoronski has died at age 84. The Naugatuck Valley native played with the Packers during its glory years in the 1960s under Coach Vince Lombardi. The Packers said Skoronski died after a battle with Alzheimer's. Coached by the legendary Lombardi and captained by Skoronski, the Packers of the 1960s dominated that decade with five NFL titles, including victories in Super Bowls I and II. Skoronski pro football career started in 1959 when the Packers drafted the offensive tackle out of Indiana in the fifth round.
