A Democratic leader in the state House of Representatives has found herself an unwitting, and unwilling member of a Republican’s lawmaker’s re-election team. Robyn Porter, D-New Haven, co-chairman of the legislative Labor & Public Employees Committee, appears on a glossy campaign mailer with the third-term Republican. This perplexes Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, a Democrat who is challenging Rutigliano. “I very much admire Rep. Porter's advocacy for women’s rights, and I am sorry she has been put in this position,” said Gadkar-Wilcox, an associate professor at the Quinnipiac University, where she teaches constitutional law and human rights.
