Residents of communities all along the Connecticut coast and their emergency responders scrambled Saturday to keep ahead of what in most cases was minor flooding during the Nor’easter that deposited rain for much of the day. Among the communities reporting issues were Bridgeport, New Haven, Milford, Stratford, West Haven, East Haven, Branford, Fairfield, Westport, Greenwich, Madison and Westbrook. In most cases, police dispatchers or firefighters said the flooding was minor. Among the exceptions were Fairfield, where the fire deparatment’s Special Service Unit 1 helped to evacuate residents of Fairfield Beach road as flood waters continued to rise early Saturday afternoon.
