WESTPORT - With more than 900 bicyclists taking part in the The CT Challenge Bike Tour Saturday, expect some delays on local roads. The bicyclists will ride a 10, 25, 50, 75 or 100-mile route starting and finishing at the Fairfield County Hunt Club on Long Lots Road in Westport. Beginning at 7:45 a.m., the order of riders departing is as follows: (1) 100 mile, (2) 75 mile, (3) 50 mile, (4) 25 mile, (5) 10 mile. All routes will be released in waves to ensure riders do not bunch up in packs and are evenly spread out on the narrow roads of Fairfield County. According to organizers, 994 riders on 122 teams are registered. The CT Challenge bike ride is the main source of funding for the nonprofit organization Mission.
