State police looking for suspect in Oxford hit-and-run

OXFORD — State police are asking anyone with information about a recent hit-and-run in Oxford that landed a bicyclist in the hospital Monday. Troop A in Southbury and the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office ask anyone who might have witnessed a sport utility vehicle or van hit a bicycle on Route 67 in front of the Market 32 entrance at 300 Oxford Road to come forward. It happened shortly after 4 p.m. “The cyclist was struck by a vehicle described by witnesses as a light blue, mid-sized SUV or van operated by a white male with short blond hair,” state police said. Witnesses said the man seemed to be around 30- to 40-years-old. The driver kept driving south on Route 67 — Oxford Road — rather than stopping, state police said.
