BRIDGEPORT — City cops have two in custody following a pursuit Wednesday evening, according to dispatch reports. Around 3:50 p.m., a BOLO — be on the lookout — was put out on the police department’s radio waves “for officer safety,” the dispatcher said. The BOLO described a red Toyota Camry, the driver of the car and the passenger. They were wanted for stealing a firearm, reports indicated. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, police dispatchers repeated the BOLO. Then, shortly after the BOLO was reissued, a Bridgeport officer spotted the car on Orange Street near Newfield Avenue around 7:38 p.m. The officer called it in and started to follow the car, but didn’t active his lights and sirens right away.
