STRATFORD - A local man, with a history of setting fires, was arrested after police said he set two dumpsters on fire. Michael Sherwood, 54, of Overland Road, was charged with two counts of reckless burning and one count of attempted reckless burning. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond. On June 14, firefighters were called to a dumpster fire in the rear of a medical office on East Main Street. When they got there, police said they put out the fire only to get a call of another dumpster on fire behind the Stop & Shop supermarket. Police said they then got a call that Sherwood was acting suspiciously outside a third dumpster. Police said Sherwood was peering into the dumpster with a green plastic lighter in his right hand.
