BRIDGEPORT - A mentally troubled local man stole a car with a 5-year-old boy inside and was later caught in Stratford following a city-wide search, police said. “I was on pins and needles as I listened to the situation on the radio,” Police Chief Armando Perez said Friday. “With the aid of the Fusion Center’s cameras my guys did a terrific job of finding the car, arrested the man and getting the boy back safely to his family.” Javon Gaymon, 25, of Laurel Court, was being held in lieu of $250,000 bond after being charged Friday morning with first-degree kidnapping, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree larceny.
