The 27th annual Connecticut K-9 Olympics will take place in Enfield on Saturday. The event is at 285 Shaker Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public. The free event will be held rain or shine — which is good since the forecast is calling for potential thunderstorms. Law enforcement K-9 teams from local police department, state police and the Department of Correction will compete in Saturday’s event. Typically there are about 35 teams participating. Obedience, obstacles, building search, marksmanship and apprehension are just some of the areas included int he competition. There will also be displays of equipment that law enforcement personnel use for attendees to see.
