A fallen tree on the Merritt Parkway has closed a southbound lane in Fairfield Thursday morning. The right lane is closed between Exits 46 and 44. State Police cruisers with flashing lights on are blocking the lane. The tree is expected to be removed before the peak of the AM commute. The tree fell onto the parkway from the right side of the road.
