In the second of two gubernatorial debates this week, Democrats Ned Lamont of Greenwich and Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim will square off Thursday afternoon at Sacred Heart University. Sponsored by the university and WSHU Public Radio and Hearst Connecticut Media Group, the hour-long debate will begin at 2 o’clock before a live audience in SHU’s Frank and Marissa Martire Business and Communications Center. Lamont won the Democratic endorsement at the party convention in May, while Ganim succeeded in petitioning his way on to the August 14 primary ballot. The five Republican candidates debated in the same venue on Tuesday. The debates will be open to the public with limited seating.
