STRATFORD — As the weather gets warmer and visits to local nail salons become more frequent, the Stratford Health Department is embarking on a new campaign to teach residents how to identify safe, and unsafe, nail salon practices. “The goal of this health and safety initiative is to increase consumer awareness of safe salon practices to help minimize risk of illness or infection, while empowering individuals to speak up if they see something not being done,” said Andrea Boissevain, the Stratford health director. Beginning on Tuesday, May 29, individuals can purchase a personal nail salon kit to take to and from the nail salon.
