Tim Herbst wants to spend the summer on the debate stage. He challenged his Republican competitors for governor to at least 10 debates before the August primary, which is roughly 12 weeks away. There are currently only two scheduled debates for the GOP candidates, which include the party-endorsed Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Herbst and Westport businessman Steve Obsitnik. All three participated in debates organized by the state Republican party before the convention in early May. The first debate is scheduled for June 5 at the Shubert Theater in New Haven, and is sponsored by the CT Realtors Association. It will be televised on WTNH. The second debate will be held at the WFSB Studios in Rocky Hill on June 13.
