BRIDGEPORT — City officers are often dispatched to respond to residences after 911 hang ups, according to dispatch reports. But Monday night, one of those routine calls turned violent when a suspect threw an officer down a flight of stairs, police said. When officers got to a residence on Clinton Avenues, police said, they found the suspect broke several windows and tried to force his way into the home. The suspect was later identified as 43-year-old Napoleon Jenkins. Officers used a Taser during Monday’s incident, but it had no effect. Officers said the suspect appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.
