BRIDGEPORT — Donations are needed for a meal being served to veterans on Memorial Day. Bridgeport police recruits are helping Homes for the Brave, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and services to homeless people — with a focus on veterans. The recruits will partner up with the organization on Memorial Day to cook and serve food to 40 veterans. Food donations are needed, police officials said. Anyone who wishes to donate can contact Rebeca, a police captain, at 203-576-8280.
