Defense tries to bar texts in Easton double slaying case

BRIDGEPORT - Halfway through his interview with Kyle Navin, State Police Detective Christopher Allegro was handed by associates a copy of the texts between Navin and his missing father, Jeffrey Navin, on the day the elder Navin and his wife disappeared on Aug. 4, 2015. 12:39 p.m.: Jeffrey Navin to Kyle Navin: “I'm not going home till I know mom is okay.” 12:42 p.m.: Jeffrey Navin to Kyle Navin: “Did you hurt mom?” 12:43 p.m.: Kyle Navin to Jeffrey Navin: “No absolutely not. Why would you think” 12:44 p.m.: Jeffrey Navin to Kyle Navin: “I go home and get framed for murder” 12:45 p.m.: Kyle Navin to Jeffrey Navin: “Oh stop” 12:48 p.m.: Jeffrey Navin to Kyle Navin: “I'm going to the police first” 12:50 p.m.
