BRIDGEPORT — City firefighters are on scene with state police on Route 8 southbound for a crash Tuesday afternoon. Initially, Route 8 southbound between exits 3 and 2 was completely closed from around 2:40 p.m. until 3 p.m. as state police and Bridgeport firefighters worked to process and handle the scene of a three-car crash. By 3 p.m., state police had reopened the left lane to traffic, keeping the right and center lanes closed. Traffic is congested between exits 5 and 2 — about 1.2 miles of roadway. There was no immediate word on injuries.
