BRIDGEPORT — Gloristine Thomas calls the Bridgeport Police Department every week. She started the ritual on Jan. 2, 2012, looking for updates on her son’s murder. Bridgeport police Capt. Roderick Porter is used to her weekly call. “Sometimes I can’t answer, but she’ll leave me a voicemail,” Porter said. “She always reaches out — every week.” City resident Greg Thomas, 26, was shot dead more than six years ago on Jan. 1, 2012. He was shot while walking home after returning to Bridgeport from a New Year’s Eve party in Stamford with his girlfriend and another couple, Porter said. “This was a case (on which) we should have been able to bring some suspects forward,” Porter said. But that never happened.
