A Waterbury man who sold drugs to an Ansonia overdose victim will serve seven years in prison and has been ordered to pay restitution to the victim’s father to help cover funeral expenses, the Department of Justice said. Jeremy Waver, 31, of Waterbury, was sentenced Wednesday to 84 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing controlled substances. Court documents showed that on April 2, 2017, Ansonia police and emergency medical personnel responded to a city residence on the report of a possible overdose death. When the first responders arrived, the DOJ said, they found a 23-year-old woman dead in the residence.
