Beardsley Zoo director Gregg Dancho might be proud of the eagles on display at his establishment, but he won’t be rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles during Sunday’s Super Bowl. And it’s not just because he is a New England Patriots fan. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, along with Zoo New England in Boston/Stoneham, Mass., and Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island, is challenging the Philadelphia Zoo, Elmwood Park Zoo, and Lehigh Valley Zoo, all in the Philadelphia area, to a friendly wager. Every zoo director has agreed that, if their team loses, they will clean out an animal exhibit while wearing the winning team’s jersey.
