Zoo ‘cubcam’ crashes from too much traffic

BRIDGEPORT — A webcam installed in the Amur tiger cubs’ nursery at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo began streaming images in real time on Tuesday, but the website was getting so much traffic, it soon crashed, zoo officials said. The cubcam is set up in the nursery in the zoo’s on-site Animal Health Care Center, where they have been cared for since their birth. To view the cubs, visit the Zoo website at http://www.beardsleyzoo.org/tiger-cam/. The cubs, both females, were born on Nov. 25 and they’ve been raised by zoo staffers since then. Two of the four cubs in the litter died from a combination of very low birth weight and rough handling by the mother. The cubs were revealed to the media at a press conference on Jan.
