MILFORD — The Board of Finance will begin its consideration of the 2018-19 city budget in earnest when it meets Thursday in City Hall for a public hearing. That meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and it will start with comments from the public. The panel will then discuss the Board of Education budget after that. The school board is asking for a $93.59 million allotment, a 1.8 percent increase over the the current education budget. Details on the city budget aren’t yet available; Mayor Benjamin Blake is expected to release that information later this week. The 2017-18 overall budget is $205.78 million, with a 27.79 mill rate. It’s not expected that his proposal for the next fiscal year will have any major changes, however.
