BRIDGEPORT — St. Vincent’s Medical Center is discouraging anyone with flu symptoms from making in-person visits to hospitalized loved ones. The hospital put out a release Monday morning, citing widespread flu activity in Connecticut and a rise in flu-related emergency room and outpatient visits as a reason why those who think they have the disease should stay away. “Our staff takes every precaution to help keep our patients, staff and visitors safe during flu season,” said Dr. Corina Marcu, St. Vincent’s chief quality and medical education officer, in the release.
