BRIDGEPORT — After more than a century of servicing customers and contractors in the city, Bridgeport will be losing one of its last family-owned hardware stores when B. Lipnick Supply Co. closes its doors for good. With the changes in the market and shifts in the competitive landscape, co-owner Jacquie Garelick said she and her family are preparing for the end of their business at 2016 Main St. “I think it’s just very difficult for a mom-and-pop kind of business to exist between all the expenses of taxes, insurance, ordering supplies. It’s gotten a lot more difficult for us,” Garelick said.
