Bridgeport is hosting a one-day free adult flu clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center, 999 Broad St. The clinic is in response to the recent flu outbreak in Connecticut, which has already led to at least 32 flu-related deaths, including that of a 10-year-old boy. In light of all the hubub surrounding the flu, Bridgeport Health Director Bond is encouraging residents to get vaccinated. “The flu vaccine causes antibodies to develop that provide protection from different strains of the flu so that if you do get infected, the symptoms and impact will be lessened,” said Bond in a news release. Practicing good health habits can also help prevent spread of the flu.
