FAIRFIELD — An earlier water main break in Fairfield is reported to be affecting less than a dozen residents Thursday. The customers impacted by the water main break live in the area of 2101 Burr Street to 2325 Burr Street, according to police. At 2:35 p.m., police said the break should affect the area for the next six to eight hours. According to Aquarion, a 16-inch water main broke around 11:22 a.m. Thursday and is affecting nine customers. During the repair and after, residents can experience discolored water, police said. The department urged affected residents to use stored water for cooking and drinking and hold off on washing clothes until the water is running clear again.
