Connecticut State Police remember agency’s first trooper killed on duty

Saturday marks 95 years since Connecticut State Police lost their first trooper in the line of duty. Trooper Pearle Roberts died on Nov. 25, 1922. State Police said he was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident while on duty in New Haven. The agency was founded in 1903. Roberts’ death came nearly 20 years later.
