Columbus Day parade returns to Bridgeport

According to the parade organizer, the parade is the oldest parade of its kind in the Northeast and is even older than the New York City Columbus Day Parade. The parade was first celebrated in Bridgeport in 1908 and has been an official state holiday since 1909.
