SHELTON — A burned power strip caused fire alarms to go off at Shelton High School, officials say.
Around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Shelton Fire Department Companies 1 and 5 were alerted to a fire alarm at Shelton High School.
Officials said crews entered the building to investigate and located a moderate smoke condition on the fourth floor. As fire personnel checked every room, they finally located a burned-out power strip in a classroom that was smoldering.
Fire personnel unplugged the power strip and ventilated the smoke.
No injuries occurred, and the building is habitable.
